in my effort to see more movies in 2k7, i went and saw Hannibal Rising with Stacey and Brady yesterday.

I enjoyed this movie. I am a huge fan of this whole series (even though I haven't seen Manhunter :-/)
This wasn't the best movie to have Hannibal Lecter, but still really good. It is interesting to see how he got how he did. I think Gaspard Ulliel was very creepy and convincing for the mostpart. I am interested to know if this will be the end of the train for the Hannibal/Silence of the Lambs series.
Saw the trailer for Grindhouse before, Fuck Yes.

Stacey and I also rented The Last Kiss last night. It's Zach Braff's latest depressing movie. Stacey didn't like it, I didn't mind it, and I think it was better than Garden State, which was ruined for me because I saw it when it came out on dvd and everyone had hyped the shit out of it.

hopefully I get to see another movie next weekend.

Best Band:
Winner: Mastodon
Runner-up: The Mars Volta

They both released new albums. I listened to Mastodon for about 3 months straight, both Leviathan and Blood Mountain. The Mars Volta has yet to disappoint me.

Best Album:
Winner: Damien Rice - 9
Runner-up: Mastodon - Blood Mountain

I didn't get my hands on 9 until about a month ago, and I couldnt get enough of it. 9 crimes is an amazing track and a perfect 1st track. I had never heard Damien Rice before, but I had heard other people talk about him and decided to pick up the cd after seeing him on Leno. I had been looking forward to Blood Mountain all year and it lived up to all my hype.

Best Movie: didnt see enough :(

Sadly, I have seen very few movies this year. I wanted to see the Departed, the Prestige, Pursuit of Happyness, Good Shepherd, and probably tons more from over the summer and spring that I never get the chance to. Next year I will see more movies.

Best TV show:
Winner: Lost
Runner-up: Arrested Development

This was a tough choice, but in the end it comes down to two things: Arrested Development only had 4 or 5 episodes in 2006 and Lost is just genius. I started watching season 1 last spring, then, luckily, through Shane of www.themadedge.com I was able to get my hands on season 2. It does lead me to the next category though.

Worst Band: My Chemical Romance

These guys just suck. Every song sounds the same, and they dont even sound good. The lead singer has a really bad/annoying voice and the music just sounds like they through a whole bunch of shit together in 5 minutes. PS. They think they're vampires.

Biggest Travesty: TIE
Larry The Cable Guy: Health Inspector AND Arrested Development

choice number 1 needs no explanation, but I will say, after the failure that was "Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector" we might be seeing the end of redneck comedy and Larry The Cable Guy for at least a little while.
Some may ask how I put Arrested Development, one of my favorite shows, as a travesty. Well, where do I start? Let's see, Fox cancelled an emmy award winning, golden globe award winning, critically acclaimed show that their marketing team just couldnt get people to watch. I'm gonna follow David Cross' lead and say FIRE THE FUCKING MARKETING TEAM! OR you can say fuck you to mithcell hurewitz. NBC was very interested, but only if he could cut his budget, which was something like 2 times as much as other sitcoms. Mitch said no. OR we could blame HBO and Showtime. HBO had little to no interest and Showtime didn't try hard enough to bring them aboard. OR blame the stupidity of Americans for not understanding the show.

I am not keeping up with my promise to myself of reading moby dick, but I am reading other books.

I saw Night at the Museum last night with stacey, kristin and brady. it was enjoyable.
id say i have a pretty good, eclectic taste in music. I like a wide variety of different genres of music and i can admit that there are bands that i like where i understand if someone doesnt like them. what bugs the hell out of me is people that listen to music that may not be of greta interest to everyone else and they still act like, well everyone else is an idiot. there are a few bands i like that other people dont, and it boggles my mind. i dont know, it just seems like people only wanna listen to a band if it is obscure and unknown. just cuz you know a band that no one else knows doesnt mean you are an awesome person, in fact, if no one else knows that band, maybe its for a reason. not saying there is always a reason, but sometimes this is the case. just cuz a band is huge, doesnt mean you cant like them. if they sold out and it is a question of ethics, that is a different story. this was just a rant that i needed to get off my chest.

over the last 2 weeks i have purchased 2 movies which i had never seen: Inside Man starring Denzel Washington and V for Vendetta.

I liked Inside Man a lot. I thought it was very creative. Lots of twists etc.

I thought V for Vendetta was quite entertaining. Natalie Portman did an alright job. She did a lot better job in this movie than in star wars episode 3. (that's not saying much.)

I ordered V for Vendetta off of Amazon and along with it I got Arrested Development Season 2. Now I just need Season 3 to complete the trifecta. What a great program.

Stacey will be receiving Lost Season 2 soon. Hopefully we can watch that again before season 3 starts! Seriosuly, best show on television. Probably one of the best shows ever. The writing is incredible and I have never been so into a show.

That's it for now.
this weekend was pretty terrible. friday night, i wasnt feeling great, and i slept over at stacey's and it just wasnt a great night of sleep because i felt so terrible.

saturday, i felt a little better, i went into work and the first 2.5 hours of work i felt fine. then with about 2 of hours left, my body just went to shit. i got real weak and, even though it was ridiculously warm, i was shivering. i stood above the grill the whole time to keep warm. i left about 15 minutes early and i honestly think if i stayed those extra 15 minutes i would have passed out. my legs were real weak, sore, and shaky and i just went to my room and got right into bed. stacey and kristin headed over here to get my fever reducer and take my temp. it was 102.8. i have never had a fever that high. it was up and down the whole night.

yesterday, i was just all congested, with a mild fever early.

i feel fine now, just my allergies and stuff are bothering me. i went to health services a little bit ago, and i have an ear infection. so that sucks.

other than that, nothing been goin on lately. had my first class of the semester today. only 1 class monday/wednesday. its gonna be an awesome class. im real excited about my major and get more excited the deeper i get.

went camping friday-sunday. laid on the beach. sat around campfires. run ins with raccoons. made pancakes. good times had by all. and i actually got some color.

got home yesterday and just hung out with my mom and took it easy. that is until 7 oclock! stacey and kristin came over and we watched episodes 18-21 of Lost season 2! wow, what a rollercoaster of emotions! i shed a tear at one point.

seriously, anyone that says they dont watch tv needs to borrow Lost season 1 from me. youll be hooked. i think its my favorite show of all time. well written, good acting, great stories.

other than that, not much has been happening. working today 12-9. worst shift ever, especially when im working alone from 2-9. tomorrow im gonna do a shit ton of yardwork to keep this color i have acquired. then maybe the last 3 episodes of LOST SEASON 2!

fuck work.
